The Boone County Solid Waste Management District is sponsoring a household hazardous waste, electronics, and tire collection event on Saturday, April 30 from 9am – 2pm at the Boone County Highway Department at 1955 Indianapolis Avenue, Lebanon.

Guidelines and Limitations

Must be a Boone County resident

Only residential waste accepted (no business or industrial waste)

Tire limits – 4 vehicle or truck tires, 2 tractor tires (max. 54 inches), combination thereof (4 tire max)

Accepted Items

Antifreeze, brake fluid, motor oil, small propane tanks, glues and adhesives, fire extinguishers, fluorescent tube lights and CFL bulbs, oil based paint, thinner, stain, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, gasoline, household cleaners, aerosols, pool chemicals, thermometers and thermostats, batteries (automobile and rechargeable), electronics (free, with exception of a $20 fee for ALL televisions.)

Do NOT Bring

Radioactive waste, explosives (ammunition, fireworks, flares, etc.), alkaline batteries (AA/AAA/C/D/9V are non-hazardous), latex paint (latex paint is non-toxic and should be allowed to dry out until it is non-liquid, then place it in the trash.)
